If you hold a Season Pass for Rainbow Six Siege, you were treated to the newest season Tuesday December 1st. However, if you do not have the Season Pass, you will be able to get your hands on it next week on the 8th.
Welcome to Year 5 Season 4: Operation Neon Dawn. Introduced in the newest season, is a new defender, Aruni. This Thai Operator is equipped with the Surya Gate, a device that zaps drones and projectiles. Aruni comes packing either a P10 Roni or the Mk 14 EBR as a primary weapon, a PRB92 as the secondary, along with a Bulletproof Camera and Barbed Wire as gadgets.
The Surya Gate, once in place, projects a laser array that detects any movement through it. When the intruder is detected, the lasers cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns. The creators of Siege spent nearly an hour testing various items thrown through it to create a setting that maximizes damage, but limits energy consumption.
This season we also see a rework of the Skyscraper map. The rework allows more balanced gameplay and navigation. To balance gameplay, entryways have been blocked and parts of the balcony removed to prevent Attackers from camping. Players will now also be able to rappel onto the roof, and with Dragon being an interior room, there is now a better bridge between the 2F House and 2F Restaurant.
Jager, Hibana, and Echo will see some changes in their abilities, and we will see multiple changes to various Operators for balancing as well. However, we do see a decrease in price for some additional Operators as well. This season Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Zofia drop to 10,000 Renown or 240 R6 credits. Kaid and Nomad drop to 15,000 Renown or 360 R6 credits, and Kali and Wamai drop to 20,000 Renown or 480 R6 credits.
